Deutschland – Wasserstoff – Second H2Global Auction Round - South American and Oceanian Lot (SAL)

Beschreibung

This auction procedure is part of the H2Global mechanism, an instrument for competition-based support of the market ramp-up of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives (renewable methanol and ammonia). The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) provides funding for the H2Global instrument, which is implemented by Hintco. Hintco will therefore acquire renewable hydrogen or its derivatives (renewable ammonia or methanol) on a long-term basis (up to 10 years) by conducting auction procedures. A contract (Hydrogen Purchase Agreement - HPA) will be awarded for this purpose. Hintco will conclude the HPA in its own name and for its own account. The renewable hydrogen must be produced for each specified lot in Africa (African Lot - AFL), Asia (Asian Lot - ASL), South America & Oceania (South American & Oceanian Lot - SAL) or North America (North American Lot - NAL). Further information can be found in the draft versions of the auction documents on Hintco’s website. Hintco requires that the product is produced using renewable energy and in compliance with sustainability requirements (RFNBOs – EU-Directive 2023/2413; EU-Delegated Regulation 2023/1184; EU-Delegated Regulation 2023/1185). Funding of 58.7 million per year is already available for the years 2028 to 2035, with 15 million allocated for 2036. Additional funds are still subject to approval by the German federal parliament in 2025’s federal budget. This information is of a purely preliminary nature. The intention is to inform the market about upcoming auctions at an early stage. The preliminary nature of the information includes, in particular, but is not limited to, the information on the actual funding amount and the update status of the contract documents, their annexes and the auction documents.
